“You’re Noah, and that ship is your ark.” No pressure there, right? We’re guessing Eric Dane’s Captain Tom Chandler of TNT’s The Last Ship is up to the task, but we’ll have to wait until June 12 to see how it all starts to play out. Season 3 of the action drama kicks off then with a two-hour premiere, and you can catch the new trailer above.

Here’s what we know so far: In the wake of last season’s cliffhanger finale, the crew of the Nathan James steers toward Asia when President Michener (Mark Moses) learns that the Chinese leader is hoarding a cure for a devastating pandemic. Chandler sets out to investigate, even as new rumors surface of a possible new virus mutation hitting Japan. So yeah, the Noah’s Ark metaphor might not be an overstatement.

In addition to Dane and Moses, The Last Ship stars Bridget Regan, Adam Baldwin, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Jocko Sims, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Bren Foster and Kevin Michael Martin. The summer series is produced by Platinum Dunes, with its partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form exec producing. Co-creators and showrunners Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane are also executive producers, along with executive producers and directors Paul Holahan and Michael Katleman.

Season 3 of The Last Ship returns Sunday June 12 at 9 PM ET on TNT. The series’ second season will be release May 3 on Blu-ray and DVD.
