Congratulations to Saniyya Sidney for her booking the role of “Young Kizzy” in the upcoming miniseries “Roots,” directed by Mario Van Peebles. She will be featured in Episode 2 on May 31st.

Bright, engaging, spirited, Kizzy is the daughter of Kunta and Belle, who’s growing up on the Waller plantation. She’s also the friend of 6 year old Missy, the Wallers’ daughter, with whom Kizzy plays whenever she’s freed up from work and from whom she takes cast-off clothes. Kizzy asks a lot of questions and clearly has a lively mind.
