Actors: Miles Brown, Marsai Martin, Marcus Scribner and Yara Shahidi

The “Black-ish” siblings are part of what Shahidi calls a “refreshing, socially relevant show” about a black family in a predominantly white neighborhood. Martin and Brown agree that cutting their teeth with co-stars Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishburne has taught them to be better actors, with Scribner honing his comic timing under Fishburne’s tutelage. Martin and Brown will play Jack and Jill on Disney Channel’s upcoming “Goldie & Bear.” As for Shahidi, she says “Black-ish” has “given me a platform to do other things. I’ve also been able to focus on the humanitarian side of my work.” She’s partnered with the Young Women’s Leadership Network and the NAACP. Scribner can be found as the voice of Buck on Disney-Pixar’s “The Good Dinosaur,” a film he says is important to him because of his support for the good treatment of animals. The four will continue to rise in prominence with season two of “Black-ish” coming in September. “(It) doesn’t feel like work,” Scribner says.
